Northern Lights and Sound stocks a large number of professional power distribution and cabling options as this is what makes the show happen and often what the inexperienced forget to focus on. We use industrial grade solutions that include Motion Labs, Lex and Hubbell.
Camlok Feeder cable is the main connection for large temporary power systems and used as the interconnections between power distribution racks and generators or the venues power distribution panels or company disconnect. We have 4/0, 2/0 and #2 gauge 3 phase feeder up to 100ft sections that can be extended as needed. We have Camlok tees, turn a rounds, patch cables and tails in inventory.
Socapex / LSC19 is the industry standard for moving power around on stage for stage lighting. Often referred to as Soco or Soca. The Socapex connector is a 19 pin industrial grade connector that carries 6 x 110 volt or 6 x 208 volt circuits. These are basically the same as having 6 extension cords in one cable. We use these for powering most of our lighting. Our power distribution panels have multiple Socapex connectors as outputs and on the other end you use a Socapex breakout to the type of connector required by the lights. We use Socapex to Edison, Socapex to L6-20 Twist Lock and Socapex to Stage Pin breakouts. We also have Edison to Socapex break-ins and Socapex to Stage Pin break-ins. An Edison to Socapex break-in connected to a Socapex cables with a Socapex breakout would replace 6 normal extension cords.
NEMA connectors, usually referred to as Twist Lock, are another industry standard for power cabling onstage and used to power just about everything from lighting to sound. Many different types of Twist Lock connectors exists and we stock most of them. We use about 8 regularly including L6-20, L6-30, L21-20, L21-30, L14-20, L5-20, 50 amp California single and California 3 phase twist and a few others for specific applications. We use only Hubbell, Lex and Leviton connectors and black SOOW cable.
Stage Stringers are used to provide power to musicians amplifiers or ground lighting packages. We use L21-20 rubberized Edison quad boxes. These are basically like having 3 extension cords. We have Edison, Stagepin and L6-20, L6-30 Black SOOW cabling including twofers also using Hubbell and Leviton connectors. We have all the common stuff you would expect as well including IEC320s, Powercon and Trueone cables.
We have several different power distribution systems available including rack mount systems and potable Lex Pagodas. Power Distros are basically portable circuit breaker panels with connectors instead of direct connections like you have in your house. Most of our Distros are 3 phase Camlock in and Socapex or Nema Twist Lock output.
